Summer Recap

Our summer started off completely consumed with Softball!

My hubby took on a team of 14U Rec League All Star girls. We spent many nights practicing at the ball fields. Building skill and Friendships.

Although we had 3 tournaments planned we only got to fully play in one of them due to the uncontrollable weather. But we are happy to report that the one tournament we did complete, ended in a championship!!

As always We had such a great time celebrating the fourth of July this year! Something about a good Ol’ BBQ and Fireworks just screams summer!

We spent many days just sitting at the Pool. My youngest two are fish! They could stay in the water all day long and well into the night! We pay a monthly membership to our local YMCA for the gym, but its so nice to get the extra benefits in the summer time when we can just hang at the pool without spending any extra money!

If I could spend my entire summer at the BEACH I would be one happy momma!

Unfortunately we do still have daily routines and scheudles that need to be followed, so we couldn’t spend the ENTIRE summer at the Beach, but we did get to spend quite a bit of time there which I was so happy about! And even better yet, we were able to make it down at the same time as family and friends on several different occasions. Its so nice to watch the kids catch waves and build sandcastles all day with friends.

We enjoyed The beach both day and night!! Cole loved roasting marshmallows at the beach bonfire! The girls acted too old for it this year…I never knew you could actually be “Too old” to make smores!

We spent so much time on the boarwalks riding rides, playing games and feeling care free!

We tried to spend almost every minute we could just living in the moment and taking it all in. We had some of the most simple days just laying around the house playing board games.

We bowled.

We went to museums.

We played mini golf.

We rented Kayaks.

We picnicked at the park.

We rode bikes.

We went fishing.

And to finish it off the kids and I took a spontaneous day trip to Virginia to visit an old childhood friend of mine!

We met her at a waterpark in Alexandria and the kids played for 7 hours straight!

It was such an exhausting day, but the best way to finish off our jam packed summer vacation.

Next week we settle on our new house. Then 4 short days after that, school starts.

I’m not sure where the time goes!

But one thing I am sure of, is that I plan on making the most of every single moment I get no matter how quickly that moment passes.

I hope you all had an amazing summer as well! Making memories is what its all about! 🙂
