Thanksgiving Tablescapes

One of my favorite things to do is host a party. Whether its a birthday party, bridal shower, or just a simple dinner, I LOVE to host.

In our last house we were bursting at the seams. 5 people in a 3 bedroom 1 bath 1500 sq foot house. We didn’t mind it. We actually prefer to live in a semi smaller space. We spend a majority of our time together anyway, so whats the point of a big house right?!

Although when you love to host parties. Living in a small house can be very challenging.

So, this year will be our first Thanksgiving in our new house and I am so excited to be hosting!

I’m talking Thanksgiving music playlist, photo booth props, games, signature cocktails/mocktails, and more!!

The tablescape has been something I have been both dreading and excited for.  I always feel like in order to create a beautiful table I have to rush out and order all the new “in trend” things.

But I decided, instead, to challenge myself and just use things I already had here on hand.

The first table is just your good old fashioned classic table. Not too much going on. White plates, platters and gravy boats.

I added a small plaid pumpkin to each plate and two straw like pumpkins on either end of the table, just to give it more a Thanksgiving/Fall vibe.

And the Little Green Twigs I just cut from a bush out front.

Simple. Classic. And gets the job done. 🙂

The second look added a little more color and “Fall Foliage”

The Fall Leaves were from the dollar store. I bought them two years ago when we were participating in a trunk or treat. I added a couple bigger leaf twigs from another bush out front just to give it a color contrast and then just for fun I  threw a couple clementine’s in the mix.

Ideally I would add several more candles. Probably a couple on pedestals just to add different height variations, but I’m just using what I have on hand today so the one white centerpiece candle did the trick

I had a potato sack on hand (also from the trunk or treat) and just cut it into strips to add under the appetizer plate. Just to give a little dimension to each place setting.

And the Chalkboard name tags were left over from a project we did at the old house. I had another fall dollar store arrangement that I cut the little branch off of to place on top of each plate.

Again. Super simple.

For the next one I kept the place settings the same and just added one of my plaid blanket scarves to the table. It instantly gave it a bit of that country feel.

Which I love.

This one was super simple. I put the silver wear in a medal tin and put it off to the side so the table didn’t seem too crowded. Then I just added those dollar store fall flowers to the galvanized vase I had.

Threw my candle in a candle holder and added a ceramic pumpkin.

Literally nothing to it!

Then I just tried something a little outside of the box and laid my tall wooden Thankful sign in the middle of the table. I thought it gave it another fun little look.

I’m still not 100% sure what my actual Thanksgiving Day table is going to look like. Especially since we are hosting 20+ people. So there will be several tables.

I do have some really FUN kids tables in mind, but I have a few things that I am purchasing last minute for them. So stay tuned and I will definitely share!

So if you’re hosting this year, just remember its ok to..

keep it simple.

Use what you have on hand.

Think outside of the box.

Just have fun with it, and remember at the end of it all, it doesn’t matter WHAT is at the table but WHO is gathered around you. 🙂
