Friday Favorites #3 (Christmas Edition!)

I am so excited for this weeks Friday Favorites! Just 3 days after Christmas I have so much to share with you all!

I decided to share with you a few of my favorite things from Christmas as well as sharing a few of each of my family members favorites things!

We’re talking books, fashion, electronics, sports….the list goes on!

So sit back and enjoy!

ONE

Ok, I may sound slightly nerdy by saying this, but I would be the happiest girl in the world if all I received for Christmas was books! I just love a good read.

In our family instead of buying for all of our siblings we do a secret Santa. For my Secret Santa gift I received the Book “My Story”.

Guys, I could not put this book down. I started it on Monday and finished it on Wednesday. And if I didn’t have to do the daily tasks of taking care of my children cooking and cleaning, I probably would have finished it on Monday!

My Story, is the story of the capture and return of fourteen year old Elizabeth Smart. Elizabeth Smart was taken out of her bedroom in the middle of the night in 2002. I remember hearing about her on the news when I was in high school but didn’t really learn too much about it at the time.

This book relives those brutal days that she spent with her captors out in the woods, starving for food, and being raped and verbally abused. Scared for her life and the life of her family, but never losing hope.

She was with her captorss and living this life for 9 months! I can not ever imagine that.

But it is such an amazing story of never giving up and never losing faith! I would highly recommend checking out her story.

TWO

Ok, so this gift was actually a gift that I gave to my oldest daughter, but since we have the same shoe size right now I have kind of been “borrowing” them from her, since Christmas morning.

These Muk Luks are the most comfortable house shoes/slippers ever! I have been living in them. And they are very reasonably priced.

Not to mention I personally think they are trendy enough to run out to the store in if you are wayyy to into your vacation mode to change into real shoes. πŸ˜‰

I’ll probably end up buying her another pair, since she so generously has been letting me wear hers this week.

THREE

This bosu ball is the only thing Mike has been asking for this year.

When we moved to the new house and he transformed the garage into a home gym, this was one of the only things he was missing. So he was super happy to open it up on Christmas morning and start adding it to his daily workout routine!

And if you don’t know how to use the bosu ball then just head over to Pinterest! They have so many options on there! I’m sharing this one from bistro MD.

FOUR

One of my oldest daughters favorite gifts was from my sister. She gifted her with 6 months of a fun subscription box! And who doesn’t love the gift that keeps on giving!

I’ve tried out the FabFitFun box in the past and the ipsy subscription, but this was one I’ve never even heard of.

Its called the Universal Yum Box

It is full of all kinds of snacks from around the world! Each month she will receive snacks from a different country with a small description of how they came to be a favorite in that specific country. They also drop little hints as to what will be in the following months box.

I thought it was such a super cute and unique box!

FIVE

Another one of Cecilias favorites was her 2019 planner that her sister got her! My girl gets her nerd gene honestly. πŸ˜‰

I mean, come on, who wouldn’t love a super bright and colorful day planner that can keep you super organized! It just screams happy life!

And I’m hoping she’ll also use this as a gratitude journal. I just love the idea of writing down a few things from the day that you are grateful for. I think it just really helps you put everything in perspective. Because, even on our worst days, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.

SIX

My youngest daughter is super into the art of makeup. She doesn’t wear it on a daily basis but just really loves the beauty behind it and is always up in her room practicing. So her absolute favorite gift this Christmas was the James Charles Eye Shadow Pallet.

Its the perfect pallet, with lots of neutrals AND so many bright colors! I was so happy when I got word that it was back in stock, because this thing has already sold out 3 different times!

SEVEN

Another favorite of hers was her blue tooth microphone from my mom. She loves performing, even though she swears she never wants to be an actual performer.

This microphone is so cute, and can connect to your music playlists so you can sing along and karaoke your heart out!

EIGHT

The little guys favorite gift of all time was his santa suit! He had everyone in tears on Christmas dressed up as the big guy himself. He was asking for everyones gift lists and rocking the outfit all morning. And it was one of only two things that he asked Santa for. That was all he wanted!

Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll reuse it for Halloween next year! πŸ™‚ I sure do love saving those dollars! πŸ˜‰

NINE

Another favorite is his Kindle Fire kids edition!

It may also be my favorite gift this year! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed phone calls and texts because he was playing games on my phone. Now he’s got his own device to play his games and watch some videos when he’s having his down time. πŸ™‚

TEN

And last, the kids favorite “toy” this year was their Hover Board. This also has built in blue tooth speakers, so Sophia can zip around on that while singing karaoke at the same time!

We are pretty late to the game on this one, but it honestly scared me so much. To me it just screamed injuries and since we have two athletes I wanted to stay as far away from it as possible!

They never really asked for it like it was something they HAD to have, but they would drop little hints now and then.

So this year Santa surprised them with one, and its actually been quite fun to watch them just zipping around the house on it. Warming up food, watching tv, playing games.

I’m still deathly afraid to try it out myself, I’m sure I’ll sure I’ll wipe out immediately!

But they are enjoying it and that makes me happy. πŸ™‚

I think its safe to say that we had a pretty amazing Christmas this year. We kept it pretty simple and enjoyed so many activities and memories together this year!

Next week we’re packing up to take a 3 day trip to the Poconos and I could not be more excited about that!! Water parking and Snow tubing all in the same spot!!

I hope you all had such an amazing Christmas as well!!

Drop a comment below and let me know what some of your favorite gifts were this year, I’d love to hear from you!
