POCONOS

I’m still recovering a bit from our trip to the Poconos. Our time spent there was so much fun but it went by much to fast!

But I guess that’s life you ya, Just try not to blink!

For Christmas, instead of the typical gifts, my mom bought us all a 3 day 2 night trip to the Poconos resort. The resort offers an indoor waterpark, arcade, restaurants, bowling, movies, tubing, skiing and so much more!

We arrived on Wednesday the 2nd and the kids wasted no time getting into their suits and playing at the waterpark until our rooms were ready.

They have so many options at the water park for pretty much any age. Even the littlest ones have a very small little splash area with swings and slides.

Cole took day one just checking things out and playing it safe. He stayed on the little slides and swam in the shallow waters. But by day 3 my boy was riding the big slides with the rest of us. πŸ™‚

Once we were all checked into our rooms and settled in a bit, the older girls got back to the slides while some of the adults and the little ones checked out what the arcade had to offer.

A little advice if you ever plan on taking a trip somewhere like this in the future, save your quarters ahead of time.

Those arcade games are NOT CHEAP!

The kids had so much fun running the halls and it was such a great time for the littlest three to get a little bonding time in.

First of all, can we talk about how well the boys are dressed?! These kids all make my heart happy. πŸ™‚

Once we were broke and back to the rooms, the older kids were finishing up at the water park, so we ate dinner in the room and pulled out some board games.

Sometimes one of my favorite things about being away on vacation is just sitting around and doing absolutely nothing. Rides are great and adventure is awesome, but there is just something about sitting around with the people you love. Laughing and enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

The main game we were playing is called Game of Phones.

Its super silly and fun for kids and adults. Some of the cards we had to skip through like “text a random number and the first person to get a response wins that round” we just didn’t want to encourage the kids to randomly text people.

But the game is pretty simple. Everyone takes turns being the card reader/decision maker.

The decisoin maker then reads what the task on the card is.

It will be something like, “send the reader your favorite celebrity gossip”, or “Find an antique clock on Ebay that costs more then $100”

Everyone tries to find the best image or link and texts it to the reader. The reader then picks their favorite and that person wins that round.

I love that it incorporates technology but still allows for everyone to enjoy actual time together.

The card read ” Take a picture of the reader/decision maker”

Day two we used our snow tubing passes. They give you a three hour window to go so we chose the 12-3 slot. The girls actually got up early and squeezed in 30 minutes at the waterpark before we headed out.

They were determined to use every second of our time there.

The resort offers a little trailer/shuttle to take you over to the snow tubing area, so we all met there and heading off to the hills!

Our crew of 15 took up nearly every seat on the shuttle!
This picture was taken after we spend 3 hours tubing! I can’t believe we were able to get all of the kids to cooperate.

Here me and my fam ready to conquer the hills and the tricky moving sidewalk!
And here we are again with my incredible mom, the woman who made it all possible. πŸ™‚

We spend the rest of our trip hanging at the lodge and playing at the water park.

Almost everyone from our group tried out the wave simulator! And everyone was pretty good at it!

My brothers both tried the standing board and considering they were first timers I’d say they both kicked butt!

I was so proud of my girls for giving it a try too! I’ve got to say, this thing looked super intimidating!

Cecilia rocked it!

Mike did amazing too! He was doing front flips!

I personally did not give it a try. But I enjoyed spending my time sitting back and watching them all. It was great to see them all having so much fun with it!

On our last morning there they had a little table set up in the lobby where the kids could all decorate their own donuts.

It was a sugar feast for sure! Not one of our proudest parenting moments, but the kids enjoyed it so much.
