Target Thursday #2

Good Morning! Happy Thursday guys!

We woke up to another gloomy day here in good ol’ De, but we are not going to let that stop us from being all sunshine and smiles. πŸ˜‰

Today is what I like to refer to as my own personal NYE, I turn 34 tomorrow so today is my last day of my 33rd year!

I’m celebrating with a little coffee in my creamer and a salted bagel with cream cheese πŸ˜‰

Okay, so the week before last, I decided to start a series called Target Thursday. It gives me an excuse to shop at Target EVERY WEEK and share some of my favorite things with all of you!

This week, honestly, my target was just not doing it for me. I did find a few goodies but it was no jackpot if ya ask me!

The dollar spot is one of my favorite spots in target! There are usually so many great things to find there. The target closest to my house doesn’t always have the best selection but I was able to find a few cute things for Cole for the upcoming school year.

This fun First day of school sign was just $5. There’s a possibility his teachers name might just be mom this year πŸ˜‰ but I thought it was super cute, and its reversible so you can take a picture on the last day of the year too. The first and last day of school pics always amaze me. Our little babies grow so fast, right before our eyes.

I also saw these dry erase pockets that I thought would be great for Cole and my Niece to practice their names and math problems with during the school year.

If you have several elementary aged kids or if you’re a teacher, they have this 10 pack online for $10.

And since I grabbed those I also wanted to get a new pack of dry erase markers.

I grabbed the 4 pack but this 8 pack is online for just $5.79!

Right after the dollar spot is the clothing section, which is where I always head next. If I didn’t have a mortgage and a ton of bills I think almost every penny of that bill money would go to clothes. I have always been a sucker for a good trending clothing item.

So of course that’s what I started with this week, I headed straight for the graphic Tee’s, which I have been obsessed with, and found this Nirvana one for just $12.99!

Then I headed over to check out their mugs. There’s just something about enjoying your coffee in a pretty mug that makes waking up and starting your day just a little more fun. πŸ™‚

I found this adorable one for just $5.99! They don’t have the exact one online but this Squeeze the day one is super cute too!

The next thing I was on the hunt for was a good nail polish. I have been dying for a manicure lately, but its just one of those things I have a hard time spending money on. So I figured if I just took the time to care for my own and invested in a good polish, I could avoid the $20+ price tag of having someone else do it for me.

While I was looking at all the great essie colors I saw these awesome Gel stickers for just $6.99, and decided to give them a try!!

They really are JUST LIKE the Salon Gel!

Here are my takeaways:

  1. I am never painting my nails again!! These are AMAZING!!! They look and feel like actual gel nail polish, they took me 5 minutes to apply, there was no smudging of the polish, or sitting there helpless waiting 8 hours for the polish to dry. I’m hooked!!
  2. Hand models deserve more credit! πŸ˜‰ I tried so hard to get a good pic of my nails after they were done, but apparently I just have short stubby fingers or something and it was impossible to get a good pic! haha I might share a pic below, but I think you’ll just have to trust me on this one, they’re good!

I couldn’t find the exact ones on line that I used, but these are VERY similar and the same brand.

I’ll keep y’all posted on how well they hold up. They’ve been on for over 24hours now and haven’t budged or torn at all. So far so good! πŸ™‚

The next thing I really wanted was a good candle. I’m 100% a bath and body works candle kind of a girl but I don’t always love their price tag. So I decided to check out the Target ones this time around.

To be honest, I’m not super impressed with the one I got, but I’ll share it with you anyway.

The scent in the store was AMAZING!! I grabbed the Chesapeake Bay Mind and Body candle in the scentr Dream and Inspire which is a combination of raspberry and coconut. It smells like heaven if you ask me!

BUT….I lit is yesterday and I didn’t really get the sense that it was getting the whole house to smell good. We did do a lot of cooking yesterday so maybe the food just canceled it out, I’ve got it lit this morning too so I can try to let it redeem itself, but I might be sticking to Bath and Body works when they go on good sale!

Does anyone else use these candles? What are your thoughts?

We skimmed past the school section, and Sophia grabbed this pack of 25 BIC lead pencils for just $4.29.

You could also grab a 40 pack for only $6.99!

And finally I made a circle back around and grabbed a 5 pc set of wild fable choker/necklaces. The stars and half moon are my Favorite!

It was just $10 for 5! πŸ™‚

I’m hoping that next week my target steps up their game a little! I know times are different, but I’m telling you the shelves were EMPTY this week. Hopefully they’ll have some fun new , dare I say FALL, items next week that I can share with you all!

Hope you enjoyed!!

Let me know what your favorite target go to items have been in the comments below! πŸ™‚
