Happppy Wednesday friends!!!
It has been soo long since I’ve joined in on one of these fun link up parties. This was always my aboslute favorite one to do because you just get to share a little bit of everything.
What’s up Wednesday is a link party hosted by Shay and Sheaffer, and I am so excited to join in on their fun this week!
Lets get it started!!
- What we’re eating this week:
A few days ago we tried out a new Seafood restaurant near us called Crab Du Jour and I absolutely loved it! Maybe it was because I hadn’t eaten anything at all that day, but I just thought it was so good.
We were famished so we jumped right in without any pics to prove it, but we had their crab fries. Which is just fries with crab meat on top and a mayo garlic kind of aoili, so so good.
For my meal I got the shrimp Po Boy and it was to die for!! I would definitely go back!
Sunday I made this copy cat Panera Brocoli cheddar soup. The pot was licked clean and then my family was searching for more food. haha We are big eaters here, its hard to fill my family up with just soup, but the recipe as so yummy.
Then Monday night we Salmon and Asparagus, Tuesday was leftovers and tonight is my little guys choice for his birthday!!
2. What I’m reminicing about
Today my little man turns 6! You can read a little about him here. I’m just reminicing about the past 6 years. My how they flew by!
3. What I’m loving
This week I got two new pair of jeans. I picked up the first pair at American Eagle over the weekend, and absolutely raved about them on Monday, then yesterday I ran to Target and decided to give a pair of their mom jeans a try, and guys…I’m so torn now! I don’t know which pair I love more!!
4. What We’ve been up to:
We have been playing in a whole lotta snow!!
Last year we got ZERO snow!! I mean, I don’t even think we saw a flurry! So this year I was so excited to get some snow to play in.
Now….
Oh my goodness, I am so over it!! Bring on the sunshine and beaches!!
5. What I’m dreading
I have a doctors appointment next week. Y’all, I can’t even believe I’m admitting this to you, because I know I’ll be scolded by many, but I haven’t been to a PCP in well over 14 years! And the last time I did go, was just because I had pink eye, I didn’t even get a check up.
I’m seriously dreading it, even though we have the best doctor out there!
6. What I’m working on
I am working so hard on my IG account friends! I have finally found a true passion over there.
I have been struggling for some time to really figure out what my niche was.
This blog is labeled a lifestyle blog, because I think its just that, its my lifestyle. The things I wear, the things I cook, the way I parenting. I love sharing the books I’ve read and the trips we take. But ever since I was little, I was happiest in a cute outfit. It just made me feel so happy!
So I finally got up the nerve to start snapping away.
First it was just random places in my front yard, then I headed to a couple parks, and now because its freezing cold (and because my room is still in need of a major makeover) its in front of my daughters mirror in her very teenage bedroom.
But I am so happy to get up and get dressed and try on fun things for you guys.
If you aren’t already following me I would love for you do so!!
You can check it out here.
I share all affordable fashion, outfit inspo and daily sales!!
I’m currently at a little over 6K followers and would absolutely LOVE to get to 10K by the end of March.
7. What I’m excited about:
This weekend!
I mentioned that my little guy turns 6 today! And I just love celebrating my favorite people on their birthdays .
So on Saturday he’s going to have his very first big boy sleepover with his cousin. They are just 3 months apart and he always tells me he thinks of Lyam like a brother. They’ve never had a sleepover before so we are so excited for that.
And then on Saturday I’m having my family over to celebrate Beyblade style.
Beyblades have been all the craze at our house since Christmas came and Santa brought the goods.
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
Mike and I just got done binge watching 2 full seasons of “In the Dark”
We watched it every night for about 2 weeks straight. So much that I felt like I was friends with the characters in real life, and physically felt like I was missing someone when I woke up the night after we finished the last episode. hahahaha
It was really good, but defintely got a little strange after a while there. It was one of those, oh really, like that would have ever really happened in real life, kind of feelings. But I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to season 3.
I also FINALLY started reading again!!
I can not tell you how much I have missed reading. I can’t wait to get back to doing my book reviews.
I just finished “The Silent Patient”, I was a big fan!
And now I’m reading , “Untamed”…I might have an unpopular opinion about this one, but I have to read it through before I give my final thoughts.
9. What I’m listening to:
My playlist has been strange lately. I’ve just been putting my music on shuffle so its anything from The beatles, to T Swift, to Christmas, and so much more!
I’ve also loved the station “Worship Today” on Apple Christian music. It’s seriously been so helpful to get through the days.
10. What I’m wearing:
I have aboslutely loved this sweater dress from walmart! Its currently only $10, its so comfortable and so versatile. I styled it 8 ways to show you how much you can change up the look!
I’ve also been LOVING a few other pieces that I picked up from Walmart recently. They have really stepped up their game. Everything is so affordablt but so much of it feels like it could be expensive.
This tie front tshirt dress is so cute dressed down, but throw on a pair of heels and some fun accessories and it is perfect for a night out too!!
I LOVE this midi dress. I didn’t think I was going to love the length on my height, but I Think it is so cute. I gave it a bit of an edgy look with the boots, but again it could be dressed up with some heels or booties.
This knit cardigan is so gorgeous! The picture just doesn’t do it justice. Its just $16, so so affordable and comes in two other colors. I think this would work great as a bathing suit cover up too!
And last, this $11 crewneck is heaven sent!! It is so cute and so comfy and I could seriously live in it!! I got a size up and love how oversized and cozy it fits.
11. What I’m doing this weekend
Celebrating my favorite little boy
12. What I’m looking foward to next month:
Sunshine and Sports!! The girls will hopefully be playing softball for their schools and Cole will be getting into T-ball and I am just so excited and looking foward to sitting outside and watching them play.
Although sometimes it ends up being much colder then I would hope during those games. Fingers crossed we’re done with the snow!
13. What else is new?
Not much else happening here! Just getting through another month of this craziness and taking life one day at a time.
Enjoy your Wednesday Friends!
Happy birthday to your little guy!!
Also, I couldn’t agree more with Wal-Mart really stepping up their fashion game! Their workout clothes are really great and not to mention priced really well!
We got 20+ inches of snow here in Arkansas last week which is WILD because we haven’t had over an inch in central AR for about 5 years now. We had so much fun but we’re happy to see the warm sunshine this week! π

Thank you!
Holy cow, 20″?! That’s insane! I bet you guys had a blast with that!! I definitely love getting out in the snow with the kids on day one and two, but by day three I’m over it. I like one big snow storm and then I’m ready for the beach!
I love reading everyone’s What’s Up Wednesday posts! Your IG feed is so cute, and I love all your cute outfits. Also, I have such a long to-read list, but The Silent Patient is definitely on the list. Happy Wednesday!

Me too!! It’s such a fun way to connect.
And thank you so much!! I really appreciate you checking it out π
The silent Patient was so so good!! I would definitely recommend it! I read it in 2 days, just couldn’t put it down.
It’s nice to find another NJ blogger. I feel like we’re so few and far between. π Those picks from Walmart are super cute – and you’re right, they’ve really stepped in up in recent years!
O, I hope your little guy had the best day! And I have such great memories of cousin sleepovers. They were the best!!!
