Life Lately

Gooood Morning!!!

I have been in a funk lately guys! Like an eat everything in site, too lazy to workout, is it bedtime yet kind of a funk.

I am doing my best to fight through that, and will be committing to an early wake up/exercise sesh every morning for the rest of this week and hopefully here on out moving foward.

Because y’all….I turn 34 on Friday!!

I have never let a birthday negatively effect me. I see so many people feeling so distraught over their age, I’ve always just considered it a blessing. It’s another year that I get to celebrate that so many people in this world have never seen or may never see.

If I get to celebrate my 34th I am going to celebrate and cherish every second of that, but part of that means getting the heck out of this funk!!! 😊

Soo, other then that I just want to share a little bit of life lately.

We just got back from 10 days at the beach. It was full of softball and we didn’t have too much actual down time, but it was such an amazing week and I am so thankful that we got to spend that time together as a family.

We headed into Fenwick Island on our first day there, figured we’d get into some fun before heading to the field for the week!

It was like 110 degrees and I chose this super cute but super black outfit to hang out in for the day!

All three of my kids played better golf then me. haha Cole got THREE hole in ones!! He’s Five!! Watch out Tiger! πŸ˜‰

After golf, Mike and the kids headed over to ride the go carts. It was a tiny little track, but they had a blast! I think more then anything, mike was just really feeling nostalgic. This is where him and his family would vacation when he was a kid, and he was so excited to share it with his own kids. Cole didn’t stop smiling the entire time. It was perfection. πŸ™‚

On day Two we walked the boardwalk in Rehoboth. It was brutal walking around in the heat with our masks, but the girls were begging to walk the shops with one of their softball friends and her dad, and I just feel like they’ve already sacrificed so much due to all the craziness that is 2020. So we put the masks on and walked the boards. Then we sat down for lunch at Green Turtle where we enjoyed an extremely bland extremely overpriced lunch. πŸ˜‰ Another perfect day in my book though, because we were all together.

Cole’s favorite part about the Green Turtle is definitely the Root Beer!
We spent hours ( maybe not quite, but it sure felt like hours) in some of the shops so that this little guy could pick something out with his beach money. He is extremely indecisive.
But we finally decided on a pirate set which kept him entertained for quite some time!
This was taken about 5 hours later, and he was still playing with it.
Many of our softball friends have a beach house in the same neighborhood as our family so we were able to get them all together throughout the week, we spent a lot of time at this particular location, because….well I think the picture explains itself.
Pretty sure this kayak was meant for kids only, but we didn’t want to send Cole out solo, so…why not send out the 6’4″ grown man with him. haha it was actually quite comical, every little move, mike though he was going to tip it. He had to keep his legs down the whole time. But it made Cole smile again from ear to ear, and that is what we’re here for right?

And then it was time to throw on the cleats and play some ball!

And, as always, I enjoyed cheering them on and being their biggest fan!

Softball moms

And this sweet boy….It’s so tough for him sometime being the softball brother. But he really is (for the most part) really good. Often times more whiny then I’d like, and ALWAYS hungry for snacks. But, he endures hours at the ballfield without any really MAJOR meltdowns, so I couldn’t really ask for too much more.

And so…after Softball was finished up for the week, we treated him with all the things….

Crabs, which he insisted on cracking open and picking himself.
Snacks on the beach.
And giant Shirley Temples with extra cherries.

It really was a great trip away from the norm. We ate way too much. Stayed up way too late. Partied way too hard (is that even a thing) and spent wayyy too much! But YOLO, right?! It was much needed and much appreciated by all.

On our last day there we actually made it to the water and the kids and Mike rode the waves for a few hours before heading out for one final lunch before getting back to life as usual.

Were you all able to take a vacation this year! Ours is more like a staycation/softballcation but we always manage to squeeze in lots of fun family time. I was so worried this year wouldn’t be as great because of all the covid regulations, but we were able to make it all work while followiong all the safety regulation and still having the time of our lives! Because life is only what you make of it! And we’re all about making the lemonade over here.

I hope you guys all have a wonderful hump day!!
