Star Wars Birthday Party – Leigh Broadfield

Happy Monday! Yesterday was Coles 4th Birthday and oh my was it a whirl wind of a time!

When we first started talking about theme ideas he wanted Pj Masks, a couple days later it was Power Ranger, followed by Avengers and then Ninja Turtles.

My boy was confused.

So I decided to take over and throw a Star Wars themed party.

I saw a banner when I was browsing Pinterst one Night that said “May (insert name’s) fourth be with you” and I thought that was soo cute!

I know virtually nothing about star wars except that Yoda is the cutest little old alien thingy I’ve ever seen!

So with the help of many amazing and talented ladies and their free online printables I created a pretty great party for my little guy.

Although it was a tad bit hectic.

Cole took the lyrics “Its my Birthday I can cry if I want to” quite literally and threw many temper tantrums.

It was still a great day spent with family and Cole’s favorite little buddy from back when I did the home daycare.

Now onto the details!

I wanted to have a table that stood out and was completely decked out in the theme. So I was super excited when I found these Stary Night tableclothes.

I ordered two so I could have one as a backdrop and one on the table intself. I think it turned out soo good!

I bought a pack of cardstock and found the free printable banners on Pinterest from busymomshelper.com
The Food labels were another free printable that I downloaded and printed from overthebigmoon.com

For the light sabers, I grabbed pretzels rods and three different colors of chocolate melts. (you can find the melts for much cheaper at A.C. Moore, but if your in a crunch and don’t have a store nearby amazon is the place to go) you could also get white chocolate and dye it but I find that to mess with the consistency of the melted chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted transfer it to a tall cup and tilt slightly to get the chocolate to the point in the pretzel that you prefer.

The popcorn is just white cheddar popcorn with red, blue, and brown M&M’s.

The cake was made by Yours truly. I almost didn’t add the Yoda just because I knew it was going to take quite a bit of time. But I’m so happy I did. I really think he made the cake.

I found this build your own droid on picklebums.com. The kids had a fun time putting together their own little robots. I ran our printer ink dry, so they started printing out in pink, but I was actually pleased with that since we had several little girls at the party. It added that little feminine touch to their bots.

I also found these cute little play packs for each of the kids. I found mine at A.C Moore but they also have an assortment of Star Wars themed packs on Amazon.

I bought each kid a bubble wand to represent a light saber. I intended to just send them each home with one, but they decided they wanted to play with them right away. So within 15 minutes they were all empty.

It was a barefeet bluejean night for this little guy.

I also decided to throw a little green Jello in the mix at the last minute. I thought it was super fun and added that pop of color in a more neutral themed party.

And can we talk about these water bottle labels for a minute?! They might just be my favorite part of the decorations. I just thought it was such a clever idea! I printed them out here and then cut and added packing tape to it to stick to the water bottle. They were a hit!

I think the kids and adults all had such a great time! And it felt so good to get back into the cake making groove!

I’m pretty sure my hubby now wants a Star Wars themed party himself (I wonder is they have any kitschy sayings for your 38th?)
